My passion for sustainability stemmed from seeing the staggering amount of food wasted each day while I worked in a family friend’s restaurant in Italy. Being surrounded by dishes crafted with intention and tradition made the waste feel even more personal, every peel and every leftover ingredient felt like a missed opportunity to honor the food I cared so deeply about. This experience pushed me to find ways to blend sustainability with the restaurant world, motivating me to focus on reducing food waste and creating systems that respect both the environment and the food itself.

As a highly motivated high school student, my passion for environmental salvation is deeply intertwined with my Jewish heritage. The principle of “Tikkun Olam,” or repairing the world, has profoundly shaped my worldview, compelling me to act as a responsible caretaker of our planet. Guided by these enduring values, I have dedicated myself to minimizing restaurant food waste, recognizing that every meal saved is a step toward greater sustainability. Through my work with this nonprofit, I strive to embody the Jewish commitment to justice, compassion, and communal responsibility, inspiring others to join me in forging a more mindful and sustainable future for all.
